Residents of Susta in West Nawalparasi have been asked to stay in safe houses after Narayani river flooded due to rain.

There is a problem of flooding and inundation every year in the settlement of Susta Rural Municipality-5 Narayani Pari. A few days ago, when the Narayani river flooded, Tharu village was submerged.

As there is a risk of the river level rising due to heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday, Village Chairman Teknarayan Upadhyay said that people were asked to stay in the buildings built to take shelter in case of floods and disasters at night.

Narayani River on one side and the Indian border on one side in this settlement, the risk of flooding from Narayani River is high . As the risk is high, the municipality has constructed a safe housing building. There are 250 families living across Susta.
