Krishnaraj Adhikari, Head of Siddhababa Tunnel Project Office informed that the structural coating (lining) work to be done on the inner wall of the inner tunnel of the main tunnel has been completed. He said that the wall inside the
tunnel is covered with concrete, shotcrete, blocks or other materials. "It gives stability to the tunnel, reduces the possibility of rock falls and stops water leakage," he said. The chief official said that after lining, the tunnel will be safe, strong and usable.
The ground slope (invert) work has already been completed. The Siddhababa Tunnel Project Office said that the invert work has also been completed for 1089 meters. Along with this, the work of the North and South portals has also progressed. The chief officer said that 19 meters to the north and 18 meters to the south should be done. "After the completion of the invert and lining work, the work on the north and south portals has progressed," he said. He said that the foundation has been prepared on the north side and work is also underway on the south side. If there are no obstacles or other problems in between, the project office said that the vehicles will be able to pass through the main tunnel in the next 7 months. Lining and invert work has also progressed rapidly in the three bypasses here. Bypass one is 151 meters long, bypass two is 161 meters and bypass three is 130 meters long.
Invert work on Bypass 1 has been done for 145 meters. The lining work has also been done for 129.7 meters. According to the project office, the work of lining has been done for 109.8 meters.
The project is planned to speed up the work of the tunnel main tunnel. The chief project officer said that the internal work has been accelerated because the plan is to send vehicles from inside to outside and work on the current road. He said that because there is a river outside and there is a river in the lower part, it will be a problem to work.
The road safety work has progressed by using slope stabilization and rock barrier method in the risky area of Siddhababa area. He said that stones will be removed in the area of possible accident and strong wire netting will also be laid on the upper part of the mountain. From which the slope protection work has started in the landslide prone area. There will be a rock barrier on the hills here. On the south side of the tunnel area, out of 2,300, 1,495 meters of slope protection work has been completed.

The arrangement of falling of large stones will be arranged by reducing the speed. According to the project, rock barrier and slope protection work will be done in Chidiakhola-Siddhababa temple and Dobhan section after the rains. The Chinese company China State Construction Engineering Corporation has signed a contract to build a tunnel at a cost of 7.34 billion 21 lakh rupees including value added tax. This project was agreed to be completed within 5 years in February 2078.
