Road blocked 38 times in Gulmi, 212 hours blocked

Road blocked 38 times in Gulmi, 212 hours blocked

212 hours of vehicular traffic has been stopped due to 38 road blockages in Gulmi in just one month. In the month of July, Kaligandki Corridor, Madan Bhandari Highway and Butwal-Burtibang Road were blocked.

District Police Office Gulmi informed through a press conference that Kaligand's Corridor was blocked 13 times for 105 hours. The information officer of the office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, said that the road was blocked in Gargare, Rakse, Mulk and Kanaita in Kaligand's corridor.

Similarly, the Rudraveni-Wami road of the Butwal-Burtibang section was blocked 17 times, and the traffic was stopped for 59 hours. Here, the main Dahre creek gets blocked after the water flow increases.

Ridi-Tamghas road section under Madan Bhandari highway was blocked for 5 times and it was stopped for 38 hours. Ridi-Kharjang road was blocked 2 times and was stopped for 4 hours. In addition, the local Panaha-Dhurket-Jaisithek-Purket road was blocked once and was blocked for 2 hours.

Superintendent of Police Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief of Police, District Police Office, Gulmi, said that as soon as they get information about the road being blocked, the police will be deployed and try to open the road. He said that even after removing the minor landslides, the road was operated by the police and facilitated the large landslides.
