Jeep Safari in Bardia National Park has been closed. According to the park, the jeep safari has been stopped because about 150 km of roads damaged by rain have to be repaired.

Trees have fallen on the road inside the park. Sarojmani Paudel, information officer of the park and senior assistant conservation officer said that road construction and tree removal will be done within about a month. He said that the park is being observed by the guide so that the tourists are not inconvenienced.

Tourism professionals are in trouble when the safari service is stopped. Tourism businessman Ramji Babu Thapa said that even though there are fewer tourists during the rainy season, those who come choose the jeep safari. Tourism professionals say that the park should repair the road as soon as possible.

In the last financial year 081/082, 28 thousand 68 local and foreign tourists have visited the park. Among them, 19 thousand 10 Nepalese, 1 thousand 540 from SAARC and 7 thousand 518 foreigners have entered the park, according to the park.

Officials say that most of the tourists who come to the park choose to see tigers. There are 125 tigers, 120 elephants and 38 rhinos here. Some of these rhinos have reached Katarnia Wildlife Reserve in bordering India. Tourists who come to the

park have jeep safaris and sightseeing on foot. There are more than 30 small and big hotels outside Bardia Park. There are about 20 homestays.  Apart from the

park, tourists visit places like Dalla, Pattharbozhi and other places along the Khata Biological Way, according to the park. Apart from this, the tourists who come here visit the crocodiles in Hata Park, Gadhiyal Breeding Center, Tharu Museum. They also looked at the blind rhinoceros and the troubled tiger in the cage.
