Due to continuous rain, the water level in Babai river is about to cross the danger mark. At the water measuring center in Chepang, the water level reached 6.87 meters at 7:13 am on Tuesday morning. The risk has increased in the coastal areas of Barbardia, Thakurdwara, Madhuvan and Gularia in Bardiya as the flood will occur when it reaches 7 meters.

Babai river enters India through Salyan and Dang in Bardiya. The local administration has mobilized security personnel for rescue in the risk area. It usually takes about 4 hours for the flood to enter Chepang, the headquarter, Gulria. On Tuesday morning, after the water flow increased, the local administration asked the residents of the coastal areas to be on high alert.

Meanwhile, sirens have started sounding in the coastal area. As soon as the water level reaches 6.50 in Babai Bridge (Bhada) located in Gulria, the local administration has requested the residents of the coastal area to stay safe. As the rain does not stop, waterlogging is increasing.
