The water level in Babai River has crossed the danger level. According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the water level in the Babai River has reached 7.1 meters.
According to the
department, 5.5 meters of warning level and 6.8 meters of danger level are considered in the Babai River. However, as there is a danger of flooding especially in Bardiya and Dang, the department has requested to take high vigilance. Vinod Parajuli, a flood expert from the
department informed that a message has been sent to the district administration, local level and general public to be alert. "Along with Babai, the water level of Mahakali river is also reaching the level of danger," he said.
Today, the water level of the small rivers flowing in Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, Dang, Banke, Chitwan, Kailali, Kanchanpur and surrounding districts will rise and there is a high risk of sudden floods.
According to this morning's measurements, the water level of Karnali and Mahakali rivers is around the alert level, while the water level of Koshi, Narayani, Kamla, Bagmati, East Rapti, West Rapti, Babai and Kankai rivers is below the alert level.
Today Sankhuwasabha, Ramechhap, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Udaipur, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Navalparasi East, Navalparasi West, Kapilvastu, Myagdi, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Jajarkot, Dolpa, Rukum The water level of small rivers flowing in West, Dailekh, Kalikot, Surkhet, Acham, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, Doti, Baitadi, Darchula and surrounding districts will rise, the department said.
Also small rivers flowing in Ilam, Jhapa, Taplejung, Terhthum, Panchthar, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Morang, Sunsari, Sirha, Saptari, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Syangja, Tanahun, Parbat, Gulmi, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Bajura and surrounding districts. Rivers are expected to rise and there is a moderate risk of flash flooding.
