The Sandhikhark-Gorusinge road is closed and opened at intervals. Due to continuous rain for three days, landslides, fallen trees are blocking the road.
Sandhikhark-Gorusinge road is closed due to landslides and fallen trees. Landslides are falling from the road from Thada to Patharkot in Sitganga Municipality and Ghumti-Narapani in Sandhikhark area.
Even though the locals and security personnel have removed the obstacles, the road has not been fully opened due to the landslide, informed Sridhar Mahatra, Ward President of Sandhikhark Municipality-6.
Landslides have been happening in Sitapur and Thada areas of Sitgang. He said that for three days security personnel, public representatives and local people have been working to remove the landslides.
Police Inspector Jhalak Prasad Sharma said that the dozer was placed on the road and whenever a landslide occurs, the work of clearing the road has been going on since morning. He said that landslides are constantly falling in the vicinity of Narpani-Ghumti.
After a landslide, the road is blocked, then after reaching there and removing it, the traffic is normal and when the landslide, stones and trees fall, the traffic is stopped for a few hours until the landslide is removed, Sharma said.
