Two members of the same family have died after eating wild mushrooms in Rukum East. Three-year-old Yojan Vick and six-year-old Bhagyarekha Vick of rural municipality-5 Serabang died in the district.
District Police Office Rukum East has informed that Yojana died on Tuesday afternoon and Bhagyarekha on Tuesday night at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Dang. Two other members of the same family are seriously injured. The condition of the deceased's mother, 35-year-old Ramkumari Sunar, and her daughter, nine-year-old Ayusha Vick, are also serious, police said.
On the 2nd of this year, Rukum came to East Hospital only on the 5th of July as he fell ill after eating mushrooms brought from the forest. As they could not be treated at the hospital, the district hospital sent them to Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Dang on the 6th.
Two people have died during treatment and the remaining two have been sent to Nepalgunj Bheri Hospital.
