28 thousand tourists entered Bardia Park

28 thousand 68 local and foreign tourists visited Bardiya National Park in the financial year 081/082. Compared to the year 080/081, more than 2 thousand tourists have observed.

Last year, 19 thousand 10 Nepalese, 1 thousand 540 tourists from SAARC and 7 thousand 518 foreigners entered the Bardia National Park. In the year 080/081, there were 18 thousand 10 Nepali tourists, 1 thousand 437 tourists from SAARC and 6 thousand 684 foreign tourists. Senior Chief Conservation Officer Ashok Ram said that the number of domestic, SAARC and foreign tourists has been increasing in the past few years in Bardia National Park, which is famous for its spotted tigers.

The tourist arrival has been increasing in the past few years . According to Bardia Park, 16 thousand 297 tourists visited the park in 2007/079 and 24 thousand 398 tourists visited it in 079/080. 100 for domestic tourists, 750 for SAARC and 1500 for foreign tourists.  

Senior Chief Conservation Officer Ashok Ram said that most of the tourists who come to Bardia Park want to see tigers. "There are 125 tigers in Bardia Park," he said. "It is estimated that there are 120 elephants in Bardia Park." Similarly, there are 38 rhinos. Some of these rhinos have reached Katarnia Wildlife Reserve in bordering India.

Tourists who come to Bardiya park have done jeep safari and walking tour . Most of the tourists return after observing the tigers and other wild animals. There are more than 30 small and big hotels outside Bardia Park. Dalla Homestay is also a favorite among tourists. There are about 20 homestays here. Apart from the

park, tourists visit places like Dalla, Pattharbozhi and other places along the Khata Biological Way, according to the park. Apart from this, the tourists who come here can observe crocodiles in Hata Park, Ghadiyal breeding center, Tharu sanctuaries, blind rhinos and problem tigers from outside the cage.
