Thakurbaba Municipality-9 Banugaon has stopped the money for the construction of a black-paper road. In the name of black paper, only gravel was laid on the road without pressing it with a roller.
On the night of June 24th, when the mayor, deputy mayor and others of the municipality requested not to build the road, it is alleged that the builders forced it. Royal Lakshmi Om Namah JV Dang's contractor company had paved the road overnight. With the loud protest of the said road, the people's representative put pressure to stop the work.
On Friday, media personnel including the head of the municipality Tilak Lamsal, deputy head Vina Bhattarai monitored the road. Deputy Chief Bhattarai said that it was caused by spreading tarpaulin and gravel without using rollers. It has been found that the contractor company has done this to get payment saying that the ballast can be easily moved by hand, saying that June is coming to an end.
The road on the way from Thakurdwara to Hattisar has been constructed in the municipal budget. A contract of 21.1 million excluding VAT has been awarded for the 2 km 100 meter road paving. The head of the municipality Lamsal said that he had written to rebuild the road by July 12th. "We have stopped the payment he will receive," he said, "if he does not work on time, the contract will be terminated."
