The Lumbini State Government has handed over state-of-the-art equipment to the Nepal Police to enhance technology-friendly capacity in disaster management, road safety and crime control.

In a program organized in Rapti Valley (Deukhuri) on Wednesday, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of the State Government Adesh Kumar Agarwal handed over the materials to Lumbini State Police Chief, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajendra Prasad Bhatt.

Among the materials handed over to the police are state-of-the-art equipment including cameras that can recognize vehicle number plates. Among them, there are four number plate recognition cameras, four artificial intelligence (AI) cameras, two video recording devices (NVR), two monitors, four night lights and four iron poles.

Similarly, 1000 meters of optical fiber, four PoE switches to support internet operation, two fiber module switches, two pole UPS and two UPS with batteries, one central monitoring and video management software have been provided.

Likewise, two drone cameras used for more security, including a 265 GB SD card. Similarly, two walk-through gates used to monitor the entry of people and two AVRs have also been handed over to the police.

Minister Agarwal informed that such devices have been provided with the aim of increasing efficiency and effectiveness in security through the use of technology. He expressed his belief that the investment made by the provincial government in the field of security will help in crime control, road safety, disaster management and maintaining peace and security.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhatt has expressed his commitment that the received equipment will be used effectively in various security activities.
