The Palpa-Butwal road section under the Siddharth Highway has been blocked since Wednesday morning due to the incessant rain that fell overnight.
According to the district police office Palpa, the road was blocked after a landslide occurred near Dobhan Siddhababa temple in Palpa's Tinau Rural Municipality-3 around 2 am.
Bishnu Prasad Pandey, a local resident of Dobhan, said that due to a landslide near the Dobhan headbox under the Siddharth Highway, the road was blocked again and it was difficult to remove the landslide due to continuous rain.
After the closure of the highway, all vehicles on the north-south highway are at a standstill. After the road was blocked by the landslide, vehicles traveling to Terai from Syangja, Pokhara, Baglung, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi and other places in the district were stopped.
Even before this, the road was blocked several times due to landslides in the Dobhan area of the highway. On Tuesday, one person was killed and another was injured when a motorcycle was swept away by a landslide.
