Up to June 23, 52 percent planting of rice, which is the main crop of Lumbini province, has been completed.
According to the Directorate of Agricultural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, out of the total area of 3 lakh 2 thousand 939 hectares to be planted, 1 lakh 57 thousand 857 hectares have been sown.
82 percent of the plantations have been completed in the highest number of plantations in the province . Paddy planting has been completed 90 percent in West Nawalparasi, the most among Terai districts. Out of the 20 thousand 480 hectares area, planting has been completed in 18 thousand 432 hectares, the directorate said. 86 percent has been completed in Pyuthan, the highest in the hilly district. Out of the 6,525 hectare area, 5,612 hectare area has been planted.
In Kapilvastu, out of 65 thousand 871 hectares, 23 percent of the area has been planted with rice. This year, the directorate said that only 15 thousand 150 hectares of the total area were planted. Planting has been completed in 354 hectares of paddy cultivation area in Rukum East. Which is 85 percent of the total rice cultivation area. Planting has been completed in 4 thousand 1 hectares out of 4 thousand 547 hectares in Rolpa i.e. 88 percent.
In Arghakhanchi, paddy is cultivated in an area of 6,760 hectares. Here, 32 percent of paddy has been planted, that is, only in an area of 2,163 hectares. Aravindamani Tripathi, head of Krishi Gyan Kendra Palpa, informed that 3,695 hectares of the total 8,210 hectares in Palpa, i.e. 45 percent, have been planted.
70 percent planting in Rupandehi has been completed . Out of the 60,567 hectares of paddy production area in Rupandehi, 42,397 hectares have been planted. According to the directorate, 45 percent planting has been completed in Dang, one of the main districts where rice is produced. Out of the total area of 37 thousand 225 hectares to be planted with rice in Dang district, 16 thousand 751 hectares have been planted. 59 percent planting in Bardia has been completed. Planting has been completed in 29 thousand 589 hectares out of 50 thousand 150 hectares in Bardia.
Out of the 34 thousand 711 hectares of paddy production area in Banke, 15 thousand 620 hectares have been planted. In Banke, 45 percent of the area has been planted with rice. In the hill district of Lumbini province, 55 percent of planting has been completed in Gulmi, which produces the most rice. Rice is cultivated in an area of 7 thousand 539 hectares in Gulmi. So far, the directorate has said that planting has been completed in an area of 4 thousand 136 hectares.
