The budget of Lumbini province for the next financial year 2082/083 has been passed by majority. In the seventeenth meeting of the sixth session of the Provincial Assembly on Wednesday, Finance and Planning Minister Dhanendra Karki submitted a proposal to pass the bill to implement the finance proposal.
Speaker Tularam Gharti presented the bill to implement the financial proposal presented by Minister Karki. Speaker Gharti announced that the next year's budget has been passed by a majority vote after the majority vote of the state assembly. 11 provincial assembly members of the main opposition party Maoist voted against the budget. The provincial assembly members of JSP, LOSPA, Janamorcha and CPN-1 remained silent.
Minister Karki brought a budget of 38 billion 91 crores for the coming year on June 1. The target of the budget was to collect revenue of 7.78 billion 4 lakh rupees and mobilize 2 billion rupees for the current year.
Dissatisfaction grew because the important plans of the Chief Minister, Minister of Economic Affairs and members of the Provincial Assembly were missing in the budget. The discussion on the budget started on Tuesday after Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary and the Minister of Economic Affairs agreed to pass the missing plan in the state assembly meeting and manage the budget. After holding four meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the budget, the budget was passed by majority on Wednesday.

Spokesperson of the government and Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Dinesh Panthi said that the budget was passed by focusing on the topics of various ministries and related agencies under the "Bill made to make arrangements regarding the allocation and spending of some funds from the Provincial Reserve Fund for the services and work of the financial year 2082/083".
