The alternate route of Dumkiwas area of Nawalparasi (before Bardghat Susta) under the Butwal-Narayangadh road has also been completely blocked.
In Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-1 Dumkiwas, after the bridge was broken, the traffic was operated through the diversion, and after the diversion was also washed away, vehicles were made to pass through the alternative route, so that route was also completely blocked from this morning.
District Police Office Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal said that the alternative route was also completely blocked due to excessive flow of water in Kharnge river located in Vinayi Triveni-3. At present, there is a situation where vehicles cannot move in the Dumkiwas section in the south of this road area.
With the continuous rain, the temporary diversion constructed in Vinayikhola under the East-West Highway was washed away after the water flow increased. After the diversion, the small and medium vehicles (up to 12 wheels) kept on hold were being moved through alternative internal routes using Hongsi Gate, Sardi and Jamire highways. Police Superintendent Dhakal said that traffic is now completely closed after that road was also blocked.
With the rains, the flows in the rivers and streams and the absence of a reliable system of temporary diversion have been causing difficulties for the travelers.
