Gulmi Gargare section of Kaligandaki Corridor is not yet open

Gulmi's Kaligandaki corridor road, which has been blocked since last Friday, is still not open. Due to the road being blocked for a long time, the local residents are facing more problems.

Under Kaligand's Rural Municipality-1, Harmichaur-Arbeni road has been completely blocked for three days due to a dry landslide at Gargare. After the road was blocked, the vehicles going to Purtighat and from Purtighat to Butwal were stuck on the road. Bed Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the rural municipality of Kaligand, said that although three dozers have been kept ready to operate the road in the landslide-hit area, there is a problem in operating the road due to the landslide.

'Dry landslides are continuously falling from above the road, keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, we have deployed the police team in the landslide area, we have requested the passengers to use the alternative road from Harmichour to Deurali to Urbanikot,' said Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer of the District Police Office.

He says that the road cannot be operated even till this evening because the landslides have not stopped. Village Chairman Thapa said that due to the long-term closure of the main road, the residents of that area were facing problems.
