All the employees of the city have gone on strike since Friday in protest against the activities of the ward presidents. They say that they will not return to work until they apologize. KC, the ward president, said that there was a dispute about the road repair he had decided to pay for underestimating it. He alleged that he had repeatedly requested the mayor to repair the roads damaged by the rains of June last year, but he ignored them and later he did not even pay the amount for the repairs. "When the roads were not ready even in Dussein, I myself paid 2 lakh rupees in advance to the dozer and repaired 9 ward roads in Kartik, but I was told to pay only 4 lakh 94 thousand for the cost of 6 lakh 78 thousand," he said. He also argued that there is no point in penning down the employees who participated in the village assembly meeting after the dispute. "After the dispute, when the employees participated in the village meeting, they did not protest, what is the protest now?" he said.
