One more person who died in a jeep accident in Birkot Sefat, Purvkhola rural municipality-5 of Palpa on Monday evening has been identified. Two people died in the accident. One person was injured.
The identity of 46-year-old Vinod Dhungana, who was a resident of Bagnaskali rural municipality-1, and currently residing in Butwal sub-metropolitan city-11 of Rupandehi, was revealed while the identity of another person was not known. District Police Office Palpa has informed that among the dead to be identified, 48-year-old Resham Sunar, who lives in Butwal-11 and lives in Galyang Municipality-7 of Syangja.
Three people were injured when the jeep of Bolero Lu 1 Ch 6756, which was going to Rampur from Aryabhanjyang, had an accident. Two people who were taken to the hospital died during treatment. Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office Sunil Malla informed that the deaths occurred during treatment at Lumbini Medical College Prabhas in Dhungana and Sunar's Mission Hospital Tansen.
In the accident, the driver, Raju Khadka, 30, of Butwal sub-metropolitan city-11, was seriously injured. Khadka is being treated at Lumbini Medical College Prabhas. According to the company secretary of the hospital, Krishna Prasad Parajuli, the condition of the injured Khadka has improved.
The jeep fell down about 300 meters on the Aryabhanjyang-Rampur unpaved road section in Birkot, the police said. As soon as they got the information about the accident, the police deputy inspector from the area police office Purukhola and the police stationed from Tanhu police station and the locals rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital. Even though the accident occurred in a slippery and downhill place, the cause has not been revealed.
