Connecting youth to employment: Chief Minister Acharya

The Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chetnarayan Acharya, has said that schemes based on technology, entrepreneurship and income generation have been prioritized to increase the contribution of the youth generation to the prosperity of the province. In a discussion with the delegation of Nepal Industry Confederation in Rapti Valley (Deukhuri) on Saturday, Chief Minister Acharya clarified that the government's priority is to create jobs through innovation.

``Strengthening startups in Lumbini province is the need of the day. The government's goal is to make the youth actively participate in innovation and create self-employment,'' Chief Minister Acharya said, ``The provincial government is ready to cooperate with the private sector for innovative efforts.'' During the

discussion, the Confederation of Nepal Industry proposed that a startup incubation center can be established in Lumbini province. For this, necessary cooperation and policy support from the provincial government is required, the federation said. According to the

federation, startup plans can be implemented in sectors like agritech, tourism and digital services. It is expected to commercialize the innovative thinking of the youth, utilize local skills and resources and create employment opportunities.

The process of establishing a startup incubation center in Lumbini is being prepared to systematically utilize the innovation potential of the province and to open new doors of economic development.
