Two people were arrested with five lakh rupees from the customs checkpoint in Banke. Banke police spokesperson DSP Deepak Patli said that 26-year-old Saina Nepali from Purandhara in Babai Rural Municipality of Dang and 40-year-old Niraj Chaurasia from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India were arrested.
They were arrested by the police from Nepalganj sub-metropolitan city-16 Jaispur on May 14 during a vehicle check.
Chaurasia's vehicle number UP 32 LB 6389 was recovered during the inspection. While they were coming to Nepal through Rupaidiha, a neighboring country in India.
600 notes of 500 rupees and 1000 notes of 200 rupees have been recovered from them. The police have handed over both of them to the Revenue Investigation Office Kohalpur Banke for further investigation.
