The police have arrested 6 people involved in the theft incident in Rapti Rural Municipality. Among those arrested are four 14-year-old girls and a 16-year-old boy involved in the theft. The owner of a gold shop who bought stolen goods has also been arrested.

On the 23rd of February last, about 20 tolas of raw gold and gold ornaments and a laptop were stolen from the house of Tara Gautam of Sisahnia, Rapti Rural Municipality-7, Bad. 

Gautam locked his house and went to move to a new house in Lamhi with his children. When she returned home on the morning of February 24, she informed the police after finding the lock of the lower floor door broken.

During the initial investigation, the police arrested five teenagers involved in the theft on May 11. When Rahul Sunchandi shop was searched, Vishwakarma was also taken into custody along with some of the stolen jewelry, District Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Kaviraj Rokaye said.

8 tola 14 lal 4 points of various prepared jewellery, 2 tola 60 lal 8 points of old gold pieces and crushed gold were recovered from them. Apart from this, Rokay said that Pancharatna Bala with copper rod of 2 tola 42 lal, Mamala of 9 tola 90 lal and gold rod Tilhari were recovered.

Similarly, Indian 37,500 and Nepalese 9,000 rupees in cash, as well as a gold weighing digital machine and a gold melting pump were recovered, he informed. The police informed that they are under arrest and are conducting further investigations.
