After two weeks of extreme heat affecting people's lives in Bardiya, the Gularia Municipality has instructed to open schools from morning. The education department of the municipality has instructed the concerned schools to run schools from 6 am to 11 pm from Sunday.

Satish Yadav, head of the education branch, said that the instruction to conduct the classes according to the regular period has been given. He said, "The school will be open in the morning until the weather improves, as the students and teachers have problems in studying during the afternoon because of the extreme heat." For some time now, people have stopped going out of the house except for essential work due to the hot sun.

The average temperature in the afternoon reaches 38 to 42 degrees. Due to extreme heat, the number of patients with high blood pressure, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, and fever has increased, according to District Hospital Gularia. Dr. Vishwanath Shah, a pediatrician at District Hospital Bardia, said that diarrhea was seen especially in more children. Doctors have advised the general public to eat plenty of water and soft drinks as the body sweats excessively.
