The landless Dalits and squatters of Banke are going to be distributed land ownership certificates (lalpurja). It is said that distribution work of Lalpurja will be started from ward number 1 of Kohalpur Municipality on 20th of Baisakh.

Land Problem Solution Commission Banke has prepared to distribute land ownership certificates to the landless Dalits and Sukumvasi of the district.

Ghannath Khanal, chairman of the Land Problem Solution Commission Banke, informed that it was decided to distribute the landless Lalpurja to the landless Dalits and Sukumvasi in Kohalpur from the all-party meeting held in Banke's Kohalpur.

"We have held an all-party meeting and decided to distribute red parts from Kohlpur, we will start the campaign from Ward No. 1 of Kohalpur municipality," said Chairman Khanal, "The number for red parts distribution has not been cleared yet, the files are under study and investigation, the clear number will be determined in a few days, we will start the red parts distribution on Baisakh 20." (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli or the departmental minister will inaugurate the distribution of red parts. 

The Commission has set a target of distributing Lalpurja to about three thousand landless Dalits and Sukumvasi throughout the month of Baisakh. 142 landless Dalits and landless Sukumvasi in Kohalpur Municipality Ward No. 1 have submitted necessary documents for Lalpurza to the Commission.

So far, 53 thousand 705 landless Dalits, landless Sukumvasi and unorganized squatters in Banke have registered a file with the commission for land acquisition. Out of which, the number of landless Dalits is 3,681, landless sukumvasi are 6,798 and unorganized dwellers are 43,226. 

Among the remaining 8 municipalities, the highest number of land acquisition forms have been registered from Kohalpur municipality, the commission said. According to the commission, 17 thousand 615 from Kohalpur Municipality, 12 thousand 523 from Raptisonari Rural Municipality, 10 thousand 112 from Baijnath Rural Municipality, 5 thousand 258 from Khajura Rural Municipality, 3 thousand 42 from Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Municipality, 2 thousand 810 from Janki Rural Municipality and the least two thousand 345 from Narainapur Rural Municipality have been registered. 

Due to the lack of an agreement with the commission from Duduwa rural municipality, the commission said that the details have not yet been received.
