A dry landslide has occurred in Daune located in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of East Nawalparasi under the East-West Highway. During the Butwal-Narayangadh road expansion, the landslide happened when the hill cutting and wall construction was being done.

Chief Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal of District Police Office East Nawalparasi said that after the landslide, passengers of small vehicles and passenger buses were allowed to pass.  Passenger vehicles have not been stopped yet. However, due to landslides, we request passengers to use an alternative route as it may be closed at any time," said Dhakal. "If it rains, the problem will increase. In coordination with the road department and the administration, the issue of repair and alternatives is being discussed.

After a landslide occurred near the temple of Vishwakarma Baba in Daunne road section, now the work is being carried out by placing soil there. Freighters and large vehicles operating in this section have been stopped at Dumkibas on the east side and Bardghat on the west side. As the road is one-way, there is a traffic jam in Daunne.
