Discussions have been held with Indian investors about the possibility of renewable energy production in Narainapur Rural Municipality.

Ishtiaq Ahmed Shah, Chairman of the Rural Municipality, said that discussions are being held with the concerned bodies including Indian investors.

'Even though the possibility of renewable energy production is being discussed with investors, we have not reached a conclusion yet,' he said.

The local level is trying to cooperate with Indian investors with the aim of increasing the source of income through the implementation of new projects using land in an integrated manner, he said. Stating that the land can be managed in Narainapur-2 and 4, Chairman Shah informed that after investment, the work will be done in such a way that the result will be seen.

Narainapur Rural Municipality informed that discussions were held with Indian investors regarding the implementation of new projects with the participation of MP Krishna KC of Lumbini Pradeshiya Sabha, Ward President of Khajura Rural Municipality-2 Dhanram Oli, Solar Energy expert Bharat Vishwakarma and others.

Indian investor Rohanraj Hedje said that it would take around Rs 700 million to invest about 700 million rupees to produce solar energy with Banke as a base along with Narainapur.

If there is smooth coordination from the government level, he said that in the near future, he will contribute by producing solar energy from Narainapur. Hedje informed that it is planned to generate 17.6 million 10 thousand units of electricity annually at the rate of 10 megawatts and connect it directly to the grid.

According to the Renewable Energy Subsidy Policy, 2078, there is a facility to get bank loans in monthly installments for five years to install solar energy systems with a capacity of more than 1,500 picwatts for commercial purposes and more than 500 picwatts for household purposes.

When taking a loan in this way, there is a provision that 50 percent of the interest for commercial purposes and 75 percent of the interest for household purposes should be provided through the bank as a subsidy.
