A Nepali woman who was held hostage in Kuwait has been rescued safely. 37-year-old Bishnu Mahtara of Madhuvan Municipality-8 was rescued and handed over to his relatives by the district administration on Thursday.

A few days ago, a video of Mahatara was released on social media, pleading to get Nepal out of Kubet. Deepak Bahadur Mahatara had applied to the administration on March 28 to call his wife home.

Gauri Zulmi Magar of Madhuvan Municipality-8, who was sent for foreign employment, was immediately arrested and rescued by the police. Bishnu returned to Nepal only after Gauri paid the Kuwaiti agent two lakhs in cash and the ticket to return to Nepal.

Bishnu said that she flew to Kuwait from Kathmandu on 9th of January. After arriving in Kuwait, he started doing domestic work. After two months, the nose and mouth started bleeding,'' she said. To return to Nepal, the office (agent) asked me to get three lakhs from home.

She said that she made a video to bring Nepal back to Nepal after she did not have any money from home. After publishing the video, my mobile phone was also confiscated. He also gave a lot of torture,' she said. It was said that she returned to her country after being imprisoned for about 23 days. She says that she went abroad without telling her husband to pay the debt. According to Vishnu, some other women sent by Gauri are also stranded in Kuwait. Gauri has been alleging that Meen Bahadur KC of Baghaiyatal Rural Municipality is also involved in sending them to foreign employment.

Chief District Officer Rudradevi Sharma said that when Gauri and KC are discussed together, the reality will be revealed. "As soon as the application for rescue came, an initiative was taken to return her through the consular service department of the Ministry of Home Affairs," Prazia Sharma said, "since Gauri, who was sent to a foreign hospital, was taken under control and the rescue was facilitated."

According to Prazia Sharma, 36-year-old Rekha Vick was also returned from Kuwait within 24 hours of receiving the application last October. Usha Periyar of Bansgarhi-1 was returned home from Kuwait on the 15th day after the application was made on October 30th. Last March, a 17-year-old girl from Baghaiyatal Rural Municipality-4 was rescued safely and handed over to her family after receiving information that a person from Lalife was keeping her in Delhi, India, said Prazia Sharma.
