40-year-old Urmila Tharu of Barbardia Municipality-4 was injured in a leopard attack. Ramkumar Chaudhary, Information Officer and Forest Officer of Division Forest Office, Bardia, said that Tharu, who had gone to Jiraha Community Forest to collect firewood, was attacked by a leopard. Chowdhury said that he is being treated at a city hospital in Barbardia.
65-year-old Bikulal Tharu was attacked by a leopard that came out of the Tappar community forest of Gularia municipality-4 at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday evening.
Since last December, 13 people have been injured in leopard attacks. In the same period, 2 people died in leopard attacks, said Information Officer and Forest Officer Chaudhary.
