Economic Affairs and Planning Minister of Lumbini Province, Dhanendra Karki, has said that there is a disease in remote areas where doctors refuse to visit. Inaugurating a separate non-communicable disease clinic (Pen Plus Clinic) at Gulmi Hospital Tamghas on Thursday, Minister Karki said that it is a disease that specialist doctors cannot go to.

Karki said that there is a shortage of specialist doctors in Gulmi Hospital, but doctors in Rukum and Rolpa are not allowed to go to Rukum and Rolpa. "There is a shortage of specialist doctors in the district hospitals," he said, "diseases have occurred in remote areas without a doctor going." He said that even now, after studying on a scholarship, the standard of serving in the district hospital is lacking. Although there are 10 specialist doctors in Gulmi Hospital, there are no specialist doctors according to the number of posts in the hospital. But 1 scholarship agreement, 1 hospital development committee and 2 medical officers but qualified specialists so there are 4 specialist doctors in the hospital.

Pain Plus Clinic was established in Gulmi Hospital with the financial support of UNICEF Nepal and Kathmandu Institute of Child Health Dr. Sandipa Karki said. Pen Plus is a project. It mainly identifies non-communicable diseases and coordinates, facilitates and assists in treatment.  It will mainly help patients with heart disease, rheumatism, diabetes, congenital diseases, etc.
