Chief administrative officer of Barbardia Municipality, Deepak Acharya, was arrested by the police on Tuesday on the charge of drinking alcohol during office hours and behaving indecently. Rishiram Ghartimagar, Information Officer and DSP of Bardiya District Police Office, said that he was checked and left in the evening.

Mayor Chavi Lal Tharu said that he called the police after the administrative officer reached the office of the deputy mayor and behaved indecently. He was arrested by the police and taken to the area police office, Jayanagar. Barbardia Nagar has informed that correspondence will be sent to the relevant agency for departmental action against him.
