From today, air service has started at Tarigaon Airport located at Tulsipur-12 in Dang after three months. Bal Bahadur Sunar, the station in-charge of Nepal Airlines, informed that the flight will now take place every Monday.
He said that flights can be added according to passenger demand. Air service at the airport has been disrupted time and time again. This time, the air service was suspended from January 2nd.
Since there is no regular air service at the airport, passengers are forced to go to Nepalgunj or Bhairahawa. As the runway of the airport is small, large ships are not able to land. Currently, even when only 19-seater ships are operating, passengers have to go to Bhairahawa or Nepalgunj due to irregularity.
Currently, the runway of the airport is 750 meters. The need to expand the runway has been raised time and time again.
