Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the former king Gyanendra Shah cannot be a constitutional king.

Chairman Deuba said this while addressing the eighth national convention of the Nepal Writers' Association which started on Saturday in Lumbini.

The movement in the capital on Friday has made it clear what kind of government the former king Shah wants, so he has said that he has no desire to be a constitutional king.

'Yesterday's protest was very violent. Looking at the nature of that movement, Gyanendra had no ability to be a constitutional king. He is autocratic,' he said, 'Yesterday's movement has shown that he is anarchic.'

He said that there is no need to panic that the system will be overturned because the present time belongs to the republic. Deuba opined that it is necessary for everyone to adopt moderation at this time.

The 8th session of the Nepali Writers' Association, which is close to the Congress, has started on Saturday at the International Auditorium in Lumbini.
