The police arrested 91 people with drugs including brown sugar, hashish, ganja and tablets from last July to mid-February. According to the police, three of them are women.
During that period, the police seized 17 kg 84 grams of ganja, 2 kg 106 grams of hashish, 68 grams of 609 milligrams of brown sugar, 146 tablets and 2 bottles of syrup.
Superintendent of Police Kedar Khanal said in a press conference organized by District Police Office, Bardia here. He said that a case has been initiated against 78 people who were arrested.
Indian market Balaigaon and Laukahi border, which is connected to Bardia, brought in the most drug brown sugar. According to the police, Chares was arrested on his way to India via Nepal. After the local administration launched an anti-narcotics campaign, traders and users started to be arrested.
Similarly, during the same period, 184 absconding defendants were arrested in various cases decided by the district court.
