The district administration office has started investigating those who obtained Nepali citizenship by giving false information. In this process, the Nepali citizenship of 38 people from the office and 3 people from the Ministry of Home Affairs has been revoked.
The citizenship of Bhansaram Bhurjee of Gulria municipality-12, Chetram Bhurjee and Baijnath Bhurjee of the same place has been revoked by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
They took Nepali citizenship by submitting false details. Sansaram and Baijnath got citizenship on 30th Chait 063. According to the district administration office, Chetram took citizenship on 10th of February 2006.
Likewise, due to the decision of the Chief District Officer, the dual citizenship of 38 people including Jhabaru Tharu of Savik Padnaha gavis-2, Shrimaya Sunar of Madhuvan Municipality-7, Anita Tharu of Thakurbaba Municipality-5, Tilakram Yadav of Savik Gulria Municipality-7 has been revoked, Chief District Officer Sharma said.
Similarly, 13 other people have renounced their Nepali citizenship. A case was filed against Kalpana Tharu alias Lakshmi Shahi of Bansgarhi Municipality-2 who submitted false information on 03 June 2007. 3 lakh bail was demanded in Bardia district court custody case.
'He was sent to jail because he could not pay the amount,' Prazia Sharma said, 'Sitaram Raidas, also known as Chetram Raidas of Barhaiyatal Gavis-7, was sent to jail on 29 Baisakh 079 pending trial in the citizenship case by the order of the district court.'
