21-point joint commitment signed, emphasis on tourism and physical infrastructure
An inter-provincial coordination meeting between the Chief Ministers of Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces was held on Wednesday at Ranimahal, a major tourist spot in Palpa. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya and Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey and other provincial ministers, chief secretaries and secretaries also participated in the inter-provincial coordination meeting which issued a 21-point common commitment for the strategic development of the province.

It is mentioned in the common commitment that both the provinces will prepare a joint master plan to develop Lumbini-Pokhara-Muktinath as the main tourism route and conduct a joint program including Triveni, Devghat, Ridi, Rurukshetra, Muktinath.
According to Raghuram Bista, Chief Secretary of Gandaki Province, it is mentioned that an integrated program will be made for the expansion of Gorkha, Tanahun, Syangja, Palpa, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Rolpa Magar cultural tourist trails, Tharu, Awadh, Newa and Gurung, Thakali, Newar and community special tourist trails within Gandaki Province. By developing Buddha circuit in Lumbini, religious and health tourism, Manaslu, Annapurna, Muktinath region of Gandaki province and Pokhara as an adventure, religious and health tourism region are committed to development and promotion of integrated tourism.
It is mentioned that it will be developed as a tourism and adventure tourism circuit by including the Banke, Bardia Nikunj area of Lumbini as well as the Annapurna conservation area including the Chitwan Nikunj area in Gandaki, and the Dhorpatan hunting reserve in both provinces. The private sector will be facilitated to use the Motipur industrial area under construction in Butwal as well as the Lokaha Khola industrial area in Gandaki province. In order to organize the establishment, operation and expansion of the mining and mineral industry and the sale and distribution of natural resource products, both provinces have committed to maintaining uniformity in service fee charges.
