One person has died after being hit by a khukuri during a wedding ceremony at Baijnath in Banke. Local Dinesh Rokaya, who was injured by a machete during a 'gang fight' at the Pushpanagar beach line in Baijnath Rural Municipality-8, died in Lucknow, India, police said.

According to the District Police Office Banke, after the wedding of a local youth, Subas Budha, a 'gang fight' took place between the drunken youths while the bride was being brought in. After the bride was brought in, when the dance was going on, the group of Ram Bahadur Rana and the group of the neighboring youth Dinesh Rokaya were beaten up.
According to DSP Joshi, the police have arrested 6 people, including 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Rana, the groom's cousin, for their involvement in the murder. Those arrested are 30-year-old Manisha Rana of Baijnath-2, 18-year-old Vision Nepali of Baijnath-6, Him Bahadur Budha, 29-year-old from Jajarkot Shivalaya-7 and a guest at Bajainath, Amrita Dangi, 27-year-old from Dang Babai Rural Municipality-6 and a guest at Baijnath-8, and 18-year-old Sujan Budha of Baijnath-8.
District police spokesperson DSP Joshi said that investigation has been started after extending the deadline for the case of duty killing of those arrested.
