Let us become one party for development: Chief Minister Acharya

Lumbini Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has said that the development of the place will not be possible due to the fight over who will take the credit for the development work. He is also of the opinion that political considerations should be left behind in the work of development.

"Let's become one party in the matter of development, in the matter of ideas, in the matter of organization building, you should go your own way," he said while participating in the discussion on the Kankedeurali multi-purpose reservoir plan in Madane, Gulmi. That place cannot develop in that district. If that doesn't develop, then it will be up to you and us.'

While observing the multi-purpose water supply project site at Kanke Deurali on the border of Gulmi, Arghakhachi and Pyuthan, he opined that the project should be made with the cost sharing of all three levels of government.

He said that the lake will be important for the development of irrigation, biological diversity protection and tourism with the main purpose of meeting the water needs of the different local levels of the three districts.

"In one of its sectors, the state can partner," Chief Minister Acharya said.
