The sixth Arghakhanchi festival has started in Kundulephant of Sandhikhark. The festival started on Monday with the slogan 'Agriculture, tourism, industry and trade: use of local products is the main basis of employment'.
The festival was inaugurated by Nazir Mian, the head of Far West Province. The main organizer of the festival, which will run until January 12, has informed the Association of Industries and Commerce. Pradeep Mishra, president of Uwasangh, said that the traditional art, culture and tableau of 6 local levels of the district will be displayed at the
festival. At the opening of the
festival, a brief video prepared by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists about the tourist spots of Arghakhanchi was shown. In the opening of the
festival, federal MP Vijula Rayamazhi, state assembly member Ramjiprasad Ghimire, along with leaders of political parties in the district, local organizations and stakeholders have a significant presence.
According to Santosh Basnet, secretary of Uwasangh, more than 300 stalls will be set up in the fair and 50% discount on the stalls for local agricultural and dairy products of the district. He said that the agricultural work, cooperatives and farmers' groups will set up stalls to keep all the stalls including oranges, vegetables, dairy products, spice products, food items, honey produced in the district, promoting the tourist spots of the district. Art is being displayed with the costumes of different local castes. According to
organizers, it is estimated that the festival will be watched by about 1 lakh spectators and the financial turnover will be worth 50 million rupees.
