Lumbini Council of Ministers meeting has decided to re-appoint Anup Baskota from Lalitpur as the Executive Director of Provincial Institute of Information and Communication Technology. He was also the executive director of the foundation.
Baskota was appointed as the executive director by the Shankar Pokharel led government in 2076 along with the establishment of the institute by the Lumbini state government. The Maoist Kulprasad KC-led government, which was formed after the Pokharel-led government was in the minority, decided to remove Baskota and appoint Regam Bahadur Bhandari as the executive director.
Baskota went to court against it. The stay order of the court canceled the appointment of Bhandari. Since the term of Baskota, who has been a continuous director, has expired, the cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint him again for 5 years.

Similarly, the meeting approved the bill for the establishment, operation and management of the Lumbini Research and Training Institute to be submitted to the Provincial Assembly.
Government Spokesperson and Minister of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives Dinesh Panthi said that the meeting also decided to approve the concept paper of the bill on coordination and dispute resolution between Lumbini province and local level.
