Due to the increase in insecurity, the operation of the first Bahirikot Pyuthan festival in Pyuthan has been suspended. Pyuthan Industry and Commerce Association has announced that the municipality has canceled the permit for the festival because of the increased insecurity of people's livelihood and the number of complaints.
According to the notice issued by the mayor of the municipality, Bishnu Bahadur Yogi, permission was granted to conduct the festival from the 5th to the 17th of January, and the ban on the operation of the festival will be effective from the 16th, according to the deputy mayor of the municipality, Devendra Burma.
The festival was supposed to be held until 5:00 p.m., so it was held until late at night, due to which road accidents increased and the death of spectators at the festival venue.
On the 14th, a person who was leaving the festival site was killed when a motorcycle hit him, and on the same day, two people were injured when a motorcycle and a magic vehicle collided. On the 15th, a person who was watching the festival collapsed and died at the festival site.
