Two people died in a scooty accident that took place on Thursday in Chureni Bhir, Chandrakot rural municipality-7 of Gulmi.
A scooty No. 17 P 1644 had an accident on its way from Majuwa in Gulmi to Chorkate.
According to Shankar Pokharel, Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office, 38-year-old Kiran Bahadur Thapa and 32-year-old Vinod Sunar of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-6 Hareva died in the accident. Chandrakot president Yuvraj Khatri said that the scooty fell 50 meters below the road in Badighat river.
Even though the local people, along with the municipal chairman Khatri, immediately rescued them and took them to the primary health center in Khairni, the doctors declared both of them dead. Chureni Bhir section in Rudraveni Vamitaksar section of Gulmi is difficult due to lack of road maintenance.
Municipal Chairman Khatri said that because of the stones and narrowness of the road dug in Bhir, vehicles get out of control and accidents happen and many citizens lose their lives in Chureni Bhir.
