Ruppandehi police have arrested 6 youths on charges of motorcycle theft.
Those arrested are 26-year-old Shiv Jaiswal, 19-year-old Ganesh Rajbhar, 20-year-old Shani Bhar, 24-year-old Shivkumar Mallah and 24-year-old Anil Yadav, all residents of Siyari Rural Municipality-2 in Rupandehi. Similarly, 24-year-old Arjun Pariyar, who resides in Mathagadhi rural municipality-7 of Palpa and currently lives in Butwal sub-metropolitan city-13, has also been arrested.
Suraj Karki, DSP and Spokesperson of District Police Office Ruppandehi, said that they were arrested with evidence of motorcycle theft and action was initiated by the court .
'They were arrested on different dates while checking and searching the missing motorcycles,' DSP Karki said, 'Looking at the evidence and investigation so far, it has been revealed that they are professionally involved in motorcycle theft.' After the increase in theft incidents, the police has started a 'clean sweep operation' in Rupandehi. DSP Karki said that the campaign has been conducted for two weeks to search for stolen motorcycles, identify and control the people involved in the theft and take action.
