The police have arrested 8 people on the charge of gang-raping a 14-year-old girl. The search for three more accused is continuing, police said.
Among those arrested are three persons including five juveniles aged 18 years. According to the police, among those arrested are 22-year-old Bharat Buddhiram Dangi, 23-year-old Gopaljung Shah and 19-year-old Ravi Chand of Bansgarhi Municipality-2.
Police Inspector Rupesh Shah of Area Police Office, Motipur, Basgarhi said that they were arrested after the victim filed a complaint of repeated rape in August. According to the police, a case of extortion was filed against the 8 arrested people in the court on Monday and the investigation was extended by five days.
