A two-day heritage cycling tour organized for the promotion of the religious and touristic areas of Palpa ended on Saturday. According to the organizer Palpa Cycling Association, historical, religious and cultural places of the district were observed in the 'Heritage Ride-2081' cycle ride.
The heritage ride started from Tundikhel in Tansen and reached Bhairavasthan in Ribdikot via Bhagwati Mandir, Narayansthan Batase. Dhimebaja of Taksar along with Ward 3 office, Asantol Toll Development Organization in Tansen said goodbye.
Bhagwati Temple is the beginning of the cycle tour. The journey that started from Tansen passed through Deurali in Ribdikot, Lisneveer, a tourist area of Khyaha, and reached Argali, Ridi, Rishikesh, Devdatta Park and other places. Ward president Chiranjeevi Pokharel said that the cyclists were welcomed and farewelled with various cultural glimpses.
Rurukshetra Rural Municipality as well as local clubs showed welcome and cultural programs to cyclists. Cyclists have returned from Ridi Ruru area and returned to Tansen via Argali, Artunga, Cherlung, Ranimahal. Rupesh Maharjan, chairman of the organizer Palpa Cycling Association said that the cyclists circled the religious and historical area. In addition to Rishikeshava Temple, local clubs, associations, religious organizations welcomed and bid farewell at various places.
150 cyclists who came to participate from different districts of the country including Palpa were informed about the historical tourist spots of Palpa district, said Maharjan, chairman of Palpa Cycling Association. Amankaji Shakya, vice president of the association, said that the heritage cycling tour was organized with the aim of attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
Lumbini Province Industry and Tourism Development Minister Prachanda Vikram Neupane bid farewell to the team of cyclists that started from the Palpa Palace Museum. Health Minister of Lumbini Province Khem Saru concluded the cycle tour. Minister Saru said that heritage travel will be of great help in promoting tourism. He said that Palpa will provide a lot of support to establish it as a bicycle hub.
People from the age group of 14 years to 65 years from all over the country participated in the cycling trip. 2 people with disabilities also participated in the cycling trip.
