Residents of Susta-5 Narayani Pari in West Nawalparasi will get free electricity service for one year.
Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has announced that the residents of Susta will be exempted from the minimum electricity tariff for one year. This was announced by Minister Khadka, who reached Susta along with President Ramchandra Paudel for the inauguration of the bridge built on Narayani river and electrification.
In Susta, which was unable to get electricity due to the Narayani river, the electricity of national transmission has been reached through suspension bridge. There are about 350 households in Susta across Narayani. Rabindra Jaiswal, spokesperson of Susta Bachau Abhiyaan, said that the residents of Susta are happy after being able to consume free electricity for one year. Electricity supply has started in Susta from the integrated national electricity system by connecting the solar minigrid system built by the National Transmission System and the Alternative Energy Promotion Center.
Earlier, although electricity was extended through solar grid, there was a problem of industries and big machines not operating and the grid breaking down from time to time. Locals are happy now that electricity will be available round the clock.
