11 people infected with HIV have died in Kapilvastu in one year due to drug addiction without regular medication. Last financial year, 8 men and 3 women died due to HIV infection.

Health Office Focal Person Tuberculosis Officer Mohammad Irfan said that they died due to not being in contact with the hospital's ART center and negligence in taking medicine. There are 787 registered HIV infected people in ART Center Taulihwa and 150 in Maharajganj. However, there is data that only 489 people in Taulihwa and 117 people in Maharajganj are taking ART regularly.

331 people have stopped taking medicine due to being out of contact . He said that there was a problem because they did not want to come in contact even though they were searched. If they don't take medicine, their immune system weakens and they get into a complicated condition .

7 people in the records of ART Center of Kapilvastu Hospital located in headquarters Taulihwa and 4 people in the records of ART Center of Maharajganj Primary Health Center have died . 4 people in the age group of 40 to 44 years, 4 people in the age group of 45 to 49 years, one person in the age group of 50 to 54 years, one person in the age group of 55 to 59 years and one person in the age group of more than 60 years died.

The health office has informed that 147 HIV-infected people have died in the district so far. Testing, treatment and medicine for the infected are all free. However, there is still a problem because many infected people cannot come forward due to mental fear, humiliation and discrimination. Kapilvastu Hospital and AAT Center in Maharajgunj are operating for

treatment. Kusum Thapa, consultant of Taulihwa ART Center, said that Cidifor count blood test and required medicine are available in the center. "Now there are more facilities for HIV infected people than before". We have been providing counseling and treatment services from

ART Center. Some of the infected have been out of contact for a long time . This has put the lives of the infected people at risk," she said, "The problem has been increased due to negligence in the treatment of the infected people who have been found. There are 937 registered infected people in the district, but only 660 people have been taking ART. The District AIDS Coordination Committee has estimated that 1,600 people are infected in the district.

As there are many people who have gone to India for work, the health workers say that the number of infected people may be higher than the estimated number. Health workers say that 90 percent of the people found here got infected through unprotected sex when they went to India for jobs. It is said that the disease was transmitted from the infected husband to the wife. Head of Health Office Narayan Choudhary said that even though the infected were made comfortable for health examination, the problem was increased because they did not want to come openly. "Many infected people are still hiding." "They don't want to open up because of their social reputation," he said.

He said that the society should also bring out the infected and encourage them and for this the local level should also make a program. Medical Officer of Kapilvastu Hospital, Dr. Dr. Mukesh Chaudhary said.
