Cholera infection has been confirmed in two more people in Pyuthan. Cholera infection has been confirmed in two people of Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-5 who were ill a few days ago.
Cholera infection was confirmed in a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man from Gaumukhi rural municipality-5 Khung, according to Kaushalraj Baidya, focal point of the rapid response team of Health Office Pyuthan.
Baidya informed that they received cholera positive reports from the Provincial Public Health Laboratory Butwal. Out of the six people being treated at Pyuthan Hospital, 2 reports were positive, said Rajendra Paudel, chief doctor of Pyuthan Hospital.
Currently in Pyuthan Hospital, Gaumukhi Rural Municipality ward no. 5 people from 5 and 1 person from Swargaddhari municipality are being treated. Dr. Paudel said that their condition is normal. He said that the patients will be discharged within a couple of days.
Four patients have been sent to Provincial Public Health Laboratory Butwal for sample culture, and the reports of two of them have come back positive.
