Police deployed from area police offices, police posts, and temporary police posts under Dhankuta Police seized and destroyed 1,002 kilograms and 300 grams of marijuana and 3,836 capsules of narcotics by burning them on the banks of the Tamor River at Mulghat.

According to the District Police Office Dhankuta, the seized narcotics were destroyed by the team led by Police Inspector Pandav Rajbanshi after completing the necessary procedures with the court and concerned authorities.

The destroyed narcotics included capsules such as Tramadol, Spaspan, and Resispass. These narcotics had been seized by police from different locations in the district at various times. According to police, the campaign to control narcotics in the district has been made more effective in recent times.

Superintendent of Police Narayan Ranjitkar of Dhankuta stated that increased surveillance at main entry points to the district, highways, and areas with suspicious activities has led to a rise in incidents of arrests involving narcotics.

Dhankuta Police has stated that it has been regularly conducting special security campaigns to control the illegal transportation, sale, distribution, and consumption of narcotics. Superintendent of Police Ranjitkar said that narcotics seized during these campaigns are destroyed from time to time after completing legal procedures.
