Two youths have been arrested in Dhankuta with a large quantity of banned drugs (tablets/capsules). Police have recovered 7,580 tablets/capsules along with two motorcycles and three mobile phones from them.
According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, based on a special tip-off, two motorcycles heading from Mulghat to Saptingtar were stopped and the banned drugs were recovered.
The arrested are Ajit Karki, 23, and Ujjwal Rai, 19, of Sahidbhoomi Rural Municipality-7. The drugs were found during the check of the KTM Duke (Province 1-02-056 Pa 1548) and the 220 cc Bajaj Pulsar (Ba 65 Pa 6173) motorcycles they were riding, according to the police.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hemant Bhandari Chhetri, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dhankuta, a total of 7,580 prohibited drug tablets, including 3,790 capsules labeled Tramol-50 and 3,790 capsules labeled Recyspas-20, were seized from the arrested persons. The police have also seized both the motorcycles and three mobile phones used by them.
The District Police Office, Dhankuta, has said that further investigation is underway by extending the remand of both the arrested persons for drug-related offences by the Dhankuta District Court.
