An Indian car with a fake Nepali number plate has been arrested in Bhedetar, Dhankuta. The car was seized by a police team in Bhedetar, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 on Tuesday while checking the vehicle. 

According to the police, during the inspection of a white car going from Dhankuta to Dharan, it was found that the vehicle with the Indian number BRAG 6602 was being driven with the Nepali number plate Province 1-01-001 Cha 9294.

The driver of the car has been identified as Nandukumar Chaudhary, 22, of Amona Panchayat Ward No. 21 Mirganj under Jogbani Police Station, Bihar State, India.

The driver Chaudhary was arrested on charges of driving the vehicle using a fake number plate and brought to the District Police Office, Dhankuta along with the car.

The arrested driver and the car have been sent to the Transport Management Service Office, Dhankuta for necessary action as per Section 160 of the Transport Management Act, 2049, said DSP Hemant Bhandari Chhetri of Dhankuta.  Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
