One person died and another was injured when two motorcycles collided in Dhankuta. The motorcycle (Ko 12 Pa 8098) heading from Dhankuta to Hille and the motorcycle (Ko 25 Pa 177) coming from the opposite direction collided on the Koshi Highway at Schooldanda in Dhankuta Municipality-4 at around 7:30 am on Tuesday.
The driver of the motorcycle (Ko 12 Pa 8098) was Bishal Chaudhary, 55, a resident of Jhumka, Ramdhuni Municipality-9, Sunsari, and currently residing in Sabziline, Dhankuta Municipality-7, who died in the accident. Police said Chaudhary died at 9 am during treatment.
Similarly, the driver of the motorcycle (Ko 25 Pa 177), Shyam Tamang, 32, a resident of Hille, Dhankuta Municipality-1, was injured. The injured Tamang has been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for further treatment. The District Police Office, Dhankuta, has said that necessary investigation is underway into the incident.
